While your General XP 1000 came equipped with what the manufacturer might refer to as a “skid plate”, it’s really nothing more than a very thin piece of plastic that offers minimum protection for your fuel tank, battery, parts of your transmission, and (if you’re lucky) a small portion of the front and rear differentials.
Manufactured in Cairo, GA, plates are precision cut and bent from 1/2” thick Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW) polyethylene sheets, offering our skid plates and rock sliders superior strength to the stock OEM or an aftermarket aluminum skid plate.
